WORKSHOPS

Hands-on AI & Robotics. Every kid builds something real.

1–3 day intensive workshops for schools and holiday camps. Students program real mBot robots, explore AI decision-making, and leave with a working project they built themselves. All hardware included — we come to you.

FORMATS

In-school or holiday camp.

Same hands-on curriculum, two settings. Schools get a tailored in-venue experience; families can enrol individually through holiday camps.

CURRICULUM

What students build and learn.

The 2-day format is our most popular. 3-day goes deeper on AI integration and ends with a full student showcase. 1-day is available as a school taster — covers Day 1 content only.

Day 1

Meet your robot + AI basics

  • Assemble mBot kit — first movements in under 30 minutes
  • Sensors: light, distance, colour — understanding inputs
  • What is AI? Decision tables vs algorithms, explained hands-on
  • Build your first sensor-driven behaviour
Day 2

AI in control

  • State machines: follow line, avoid wall, navigate maze
  • Let AI decide the robot's next move (LLM tool-use intro)
  • Pair challenge: robot vs robot obstacle course
  • Build and demo your signature project
Day 3 (3-day format)

Build, pitch & showcase

  • Free-build session: student's own robot idea, AI-assisted planning
  • Prompt engineering basics — Prompt → Robot action chain
  • Peer demo + group showcase with parent/teacher audience
  • Every student leaves with a documented take-home project brief

All formats include Digital Technologies F-10 curriculum mapping documentation — ready for your school’s planning cycle and reporting.

WHY IT WORKS

The format schools keep rebooking.

We’ve run workshops across AU schools and pilot campuses. Here’s what makes the difference between a one-off visit and a year-long partnership.

Tangible output in hours

A robot students built and programmed themselves is a stronger confidence signal than any worksheet. The first wow moment happens in the first 30 minutes of Day 1.

All hardware included

We arrive with mBot kits, sensors, cables, and spares. No procurement, no liability on the school's side. Everything returns with us.

AU curriculum-aligned

Each workshop maps to Digital Technologies F-10 (systems and components, data representation, problem-solving). Mapping documents available for teachers on request.

Bridge to the Airbotix Platform

Workshop students get a priority invite to airbotix-app + Kids OpenCode. Schools can negotiate a blended in-school + platform subscription for continuous AI learning.

FAQS

Common questions from schools.

What level of tech knowledge do students need?

None. Workshops are designed for complete beginners. Students with coding experience get more ambitious challenges — we differentiate within the same session.

How many students can you run at once?

Optimally 15–20 students per instructor, up to 30 with a second instructor. We recommend 1 mBot kit per 2 students (pairs work well and mirror real engineering practice).

Do we need to provide any equipment?

No. We bring everything — mBot kits, sensors, extension cables, charge cables, and a spare kit. You just need tables, chairs, and a projector or display at the front of the room.

What does the school booking process look like?

Fill in the school enquiry form — we'll reply within 2 business days with available dates, student-number options, and a formal quote.

Can you run workshops for multiple classes or year levels in one visit?

Yes. We can run back-to-back cohorts across a full day. Schools often book us for two year groups in one visit to maximise the travel cost.
