First choose two based on age and address.

This guidance was verified on 10 July 2026 (AEST) by council, government and sponsor pages. The most time-saving way is not to collect events across the city, but to establish "a fixed point + an alternative point".

  • 0-12 months: Watch Baby Rhyme Time first; the content is songs, nursery rhymes, actions and parent communication.
  • 1-3 years old: Watch Toddler Time first; then use playgroup search to find a free play session for the same age group.
  • North: Upper Coomera, Helensvale.
  • Central: Southport, Broadbeach, Labrador.
  • Inner South/hinterland inner edge: Robina, Burleigh Waters, Worongary, Mudgeeraba.
  • South: Elanora, Coolangatta.

Regular library projects are free and no reservation is required; different branches have different opinions on whether to register for free membership first. You can call 07 5667 5940 before visiting for the first time. Activities may be temporarily adjusted, and the following times cannot be used as a substitute for checking the official page on the day of departure.

First select two points within 20 minutes one way. The event is free, which doesn’t mean there are no costs for parking, commuting and children’s schedule.

How to check Playgroup and one-time activities

In addition to regular library sessions, use these three official entrances to complement your neighborhood playgroup, weekend activities, or rainy day alternatives.

  • Play Matters Search: Enter postcode, then select 10/20/50 km, day of the week and Free only. The fees, term suspension and reservation rules for each group can be viewed on the details page. Open search
  • Gold Coast Libraries What's on: Use Keyword and/or Library, Babies & toddlers, and date range to filter this week's sessions. Open calendar
  • Active & Healthy Calendar: Filter by Category, Suburb, From/To and Free; ages 0-3 need to be confirmed one by one. If you cannot see Kids, it will be suitable by default. Open calendar
  • NaturallyGC Calendar: Filter natural activities by suburb, date and Free; stroller conditions, parking and age must be viewed separately. Open calendar

The Queensland Government explains that playgroups are usually for children from birth to preschool and are accompanied by a parent or carer, and some groups may charge a small donation. Don’t automatically interpret “playgroup” to mean free hosting.

Toy library: Current evidence boundaries

As of July 10, 2026, this check did not find a community toy library that also publishes 0-3 age appropriateness, Gold Coast street address, current fees and borrowing rules. Therefore, this edition does not write about an unproven “free toy library” for parents to make false claims.

The currently verifiable sponsor project is Educational Toy Library:

  • Region: Helensvale / Gold Coast; undisclosed street address on home page.
  • Age: Definitely for 3-6 years old, only suitable for children close to or already 3 years old, not suitable for families aged 0-2.
  • CONTENT: 180+ language, math, fine motor and school readiness teaching aids.
  • Fees: Subscription only; the current amount is not displayed on the public homepage.
  • Borrowing: You need to subscribe online first; the collection location, opening hours and loan period are not fully disclosed on the homepage.
  • Official entry point: Educational Toy Library
Conclusion: Families with 0-2 years old should first use the library and playgroup; when they are close to 3 years old, contact the project and make a decision after asking about the cost, address, borrowing period and collection time.

Make your family’s shortlist for the week

Don't leave this guide in your favorites. Now select only two fixed points and an alternative entrance.

The most practical week can be simple: a 30+30 minute library session, a playgroup candidate, a branch library that you can still go to on a rainy day. Whether the child is willing to participate continuously is more important than running all over the city at once.
